BJ THEE MUSTAFA is an imposing bay stallion with an extraordinarily beautiful head. Exuding confidence and charisma, he commands the undivided attention of all who behold him. He is sired by U.S. National Reserve Champion Stallion THEE DESPERADO, out of a granddaughter of the famous Ansata IBN HALIMA. Born in 1993, BJ THEE MUSTAFA, is very much of Egyptian lines, while his damline carries some other purebred blood which is why he is not a so-named "straight Egyptian'. He is bred by John and Barbara Birdsall, in the United States, and was sold to Fontanella Magic Arabians in Italy when he was two. Before then, he had already had his coming out in the show circus, presented at the Egyptian Event in Lexington in 1994, where BJ THEE MUSTAFA as yearling, won the class of 'Futurity Finals Egyptian-bred Colts 1993'.
In Europe, he was a new comer in both - the THEE DESPERADO blood that was not very much represented at this time, and in the show ring. Until 1997, BJ THEE MUSTAFA was shown several times, each time with good success and top ranking in his individual age class. His major success came in 1998, when he succeeded as a five-year-old in the prestigeous 'Triple Crown' - namely Champion Stallion of the All Nations Cup, the European Championships, and the World Championships in one and the same year. Everybody spoke about BJ THEE MUSTAFA because his quality and class, and the firey spirit he sometimes displayed. During his competition in Paris in 1998, a Saudi delegation attended headed by Mutlaq Ben Mushrif, who saw MUSTAFA and offered before the finals such a big price that his owner could not refuse. BJ THEE MUSTAFA was sold to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and HRH Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, son of His Majesty, the late King Fahd, and was awarded World Champion Stallion with the old and the new owners. He left Europe to the desert, leaving a few first foals in Europe behind as well as a few mares infoal. The most well known European descendants of BJ THEE MUSTAFA might be the Champion Filly THEE RAHIBA in Italy (out of HMT Farimah/ by The Minstril), and the 1999 born, black stallion DUBAI PASHA (out of Abas Pasha I-11), bred by Fontanella Magic Arabians, Italy, standing in Germany.
Once in his new country Saudi Arabia, BJ THEE MUSTAFA had still not arrived at his final home. It is a very common habit in the Middle East to make very special and valuable gifts to the higher ranked royalties or rulers to please them and show them high respect. So it happened in October 1999 that the famous and world wide known Arab stallion BJ THEE MUSTAFA came gifted to the HRH Prince Abdullah, who was Crown Prince od Saudi Arabia at that time and is the today's Majesty, King Abdullah. In his 'Stables of King Abdullah & Sons', BJ THEE MUSTAFA found his final home. In this lovely stud farm's place and in very nice care he stands row in row next to other famous stallions and major champions from Europe like KORONEC, TALADINN, MONITOR, and the dark bay, homebred, 2005 Saudi National Champion, the most promising SAABA AL SAHRA.
