Coming from a very classical and successful family, DONNA DIVA is an initial proud achievement of the stud manager and today's owner of 'Arabian Sun Horses', Ingrid Bentchikou. "She was my very first own breeding. Previously, all decisions had been made by my late father-in-law, who was the founder and longtime owner of our stud", she says. And indeed, her first decision turned out to the very exceptional and typey, 2001 born DONNA DIVA, a daughter by World Champion and Triple Crown Champion, EKSTERN, and out of the successful show and broodmare LA DIVA (by World Champion, Warandes Plakat).
As to her quality, there was no doubt - DONNA DIVA was destinated to represent her breeder's 'Arabian Sun Horses' at international shows in Europe. And she did very well, always ranked in the top places of her junior age class. In the last year shown, in 2004, she became Champion Filly at the show in Balen, in Belgium, her home country. After two years of a life outside her home, well cared for, but in regular show training and show work in a training stable in Germany, DONNA DIVA went home end in February 2005. It was decided that she should have a rest from the show work, clearing her spirits and enjoying her life for some time in natural state and in the pasture at home, before she was bred. The Bentchikous wanted to see also her potential as a broodmare, and so, DONNA DIVA was bred to WH Justice in 2005, a stallion that Ingrid Bentchikou liked very much due to his beauty and front end. DONNA DIVA gave birth to her very first foal in 2006, a really cute little colt that gave a great hope to the breeders and owners. And so, he was named ASH DREAM OF GLORY - ASH as prefix for all horses bred in the future by 'Arabian Sun Horses', and the name of the colt expressing what the Bentchikous felt about him.
DONNA DIVA is now six years, matured to a well balanced mare with a long elegant neck, good size and elegant substance. Sooner or later she will return to the international show ring, competing in the senior classes against other mares. Nevertheless, DONNA DIVA is destinated to bring many more foals for her happy owners, and hopefully to the same quality as her very first one. |
