Just as a good wine gets better and better every year - so it seems to be with Eagleridge PASSIONATA. Born in 1999, she is now 11 years old and she has turned out to a real lady. Competing with great success in the international show ring. she has gained success and titles in four continents - Australia, the Middle East, Europe, and now also in the United States of America where she became the Las Vegas Breeders Cup Champion Mare just a few weeks ago.
Even as a two-year-old, her qualities were already identified. PASSIONATA was shown in her country of birth, in Australia, and won Champion Filly there. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of the Gulf emirate Ajman, and owner of the famous Ajman Stud, purchased her as a young mare to include her in his collection. And it was a good choice as she has continued to improve more and more.
ER PASSIONATA is a daughter of the famous, late SANADIK EL SHAKLAN who carries the valuable blood of two great straight Egyptian sires - the NAZEER Son HADBAN ENZAHI, long time herd sire at the Marbach State Stud in Germany, and the chestnut Morafic son SHAKER EL MASRI, who bases the so-named, and created "Golden Cross" with the Spanish mare ESTOPA. One of these famous and very important results of this cross was EL SHAKLAN, who is the sire of SANADIK EL SHAKLAN and by so, the paternal grand sire of PASSIONATA. On her dam's side, we find RALVON PILGRIM, a 1969 born chestnut, who made a huge impact to the Arabian breeding in Australia, and records some hundreds of offsprings.
Besides her sweet and calm character, PASSIONATA is convincing due to her balanced look and quality. She is a quite squared horse of good size and good substance, more in the elegant overall Kuhailan type, with a wonderful and well shaped face. She also reflects the influence from her Spanish and Crabbet blood. ER PASSIONATA is always a pleasure to look at - whether posed, trotting or just standing around somewhere, calm, and relaxed.
She has turned out to be white, and is one of Sheikh Ammar's pride and "white jewels" of the Ajman Stud, in the United Arab Emirates.
