One of the famous senior stallions at the 'Stables of King Abdullah and Sons' in Saudi Arabia is the well know KORONEC. The son of World Champion KUBINEC and out of the Canadian bred mare PRECIOUS ME, he is a modern-day example of the Arabian horse transcending political boundaries. His pedigree is an equal blend of some of the finest Russian and American bloodlines. With his long, arched neck, his well balanced body, the extraordinary flat topline, his elegant movement, and commanding presence, he garnered multiple honours in Europe before his exportation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including European and All Nations Cup Junior Champion Stallion, as well as World Reserve Junior Champion in Paris.
KORONEC was born in Germany bred by Almut von Anshelm, and he was sold as a Two-year-old to the partnership of the Germans, the breeder Anton Stöckle, and the well known trainer, Frank Spönle. With this excellent base, being owned by one of the best professional European show trainers, KORONEC started his track to the show circus and competed at many national and international shows in Europe. He collected junior titles one after the other, and impressed everybody with his records. When KORONEC became four, it was not enough for his owners, they wanted to prove that KORONEC can also win in the senior age group. And he did! Several times he was Champion Stallion in Europe, before it became a bit quiet for him. In 1999, as a big suprise and THE attraction, KORONEC appeared suddenly as Lot No. 1 in the first German Elite Auction. It was a very first Arabian horse auction in Germany, and nobody was really experienced. And so it happened, before most of the people came aware, the auctioneer finished Lot No. 1 was unsold and sent back to the stables as KORONEC had not met the reserve price the owners had placed. One person watching the whole event was, the Dutchman, former trainer and business man Rene Tromp, who followed this moment up, and acted immediately toward his friend, the American Bruce McCrea, working at the Dirab Arabian Horse Center in Saudi Arabia for some years. He knew that McCrea had always liked KORONEC and had even judged him to his success at the All Nations Cup in Aachen in 1995. And a few hours later, KORONEC was sold to Saudi Arabia to behalf of Al Janadriya Farm , the formerly used name of today's 'Stables of King Abdullah and Sons'.
KORONEC left Europe and moved to his new place in Saudi Arabi and Janadria, a farm area a bit outside the Saudi capital Riyadh. He left 28 descendants registered in the German Studbook between 1998 and 2000. What he produced, or better said, stamped, then after in the purebred Arabian horse breeding of his new owners in Saudi Arabia as well as another stud farm under the same management, was of it's own. KORONEC is proudly siring champions and sons and daughters of really outstanding and world class quality - of great type, quality and movements. Especially the cross between KORONEC and the THEE DESPERADO blood works exceedingly well. One of the best examples is KORONEC's already famous son and representative, the dark bay SAABA AL SAHRAA. He is out the THEE DESPERADO daughter NOUF AL THALITHA, and was named Saudi National Junior Champion at the Third Saudi National Arabian Horse Championship Show in 2005, the same year KORONEC won the Senior Champion Stallion title, and his exquisite daughter BINT AL SHAMAAL (out of Thee Cover Girl, by Thee Desperado) the class and title of 'Females bred and born in Saudi Arabia'. What more success can a stallion achieve - as a show horse himself, and as great sire!
KORONEC is now 14 years old, still happy and in excellent condition, and breeding the mares at 'Stables of King Abdullah and Sons' naturally. Every year, a new group of KORONEC babies arrives, exclusively bred at the 'Stables of King Abdullah and Sons'. But be sure to hear more about KORONEC and his get in the future! |
