AKAHF 2012 - The 120 km Endurance Race

held at the Al Khalediah Farm
on 23. January 2012

51 horses and riders started in the early morning to the 120 km
desert track inside the huge Al Khalediah Farm.
The first of the five loops had 34 km, the next two then 25km each,
the fourth had 20 km, and the last one 16 km.


On the way to their second loop ....



... while No. 77, Mohamed Al Sabouse and his gelding AINHOA TIDJANIC,
returnedalready from this second loop to the vet gate

And off again to the 3rd loop and the next 25 km ....



Among the riders, HH Sheikh Hazza Bin Sultan Al Nahyan,
from Wrsan Stables in Abu Dhabi ....




... always followed and well guarded by his car and team

Dust and stemporarily gave problems to riders and horses



After nearly 6 hours, two riders passed galopping the 120 km finishing line,
one shortly after the other:
No. 7, the winner Tarif Ateeq Al Falah with BARAKA SIDI IFNI, Wrsan Stables/ UAE,
shortly followed by No. 77, Mohammmed Al sabouse with gelding
AINHOA TIDJANIC, from Al Asifa II Stables, also from the Emirates
Their recorded time was 5:46:23 and 5:46:35.
The final vet check would prove who might be the final winner

Rider and horse No. 7 - Taif Ateeq AlFalah Abdul Rahman
on his 12-year-old gelding BARAKA SIDI IFNI on the track.
He was long time in the lead already, and finally the 120 ride for
his team and the Wrsan Stables, from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates


Horse No. 77 - the gelding AINHOA TIDJANIC became 2nd;
here at the vet gate after having finished 120 km in 5:46:35 hours


The vet check will finally give the results

And this is what regularly happens to the winner of endurance ride
...... the water pool was of need to refresh the horses,
and now to celebrate the winner to be thrown in ...

who had finished the 120 km endurance as rider in 5th place


51 horses and riders started in the morning at 6:30 a.m.
They came from Saudi Arabia as well as from the United Arab Emirates.
And less than a quarter, exactly 11, finished the 120 km successfully.

HRH Prince Khaled bin Sultan awarded the top three riders in the afternoon.

1st placed -
Taif Ateeq Al Falah, from the Emirates (Wrsan Stables)


2nd placed -
Mohammed Al Sabouse, also from the Emirates (Al Asifa II Stable)

3rd placed -
Sharif M. Al Baloushy, again from the Emirates (Wrsan Stables)

The 2012 AKAHF endurance turned out to be a great success for the
riders and horses from the United Arab Emirates, who took 1. - 6. place
