BINT AL SHAMAAL
(Koronec x Nouf Al thalitha)

She has type, she has size, she has elegance, and she has breath-taking movement!
Curving her long, elegant swan neck when starting action in trot, she is a wonderful example of the classical Arab horse in spirit and elegant Saqlawi type. Her face is fine chiselled and very dry, her overall balance impressive, while still only four years old!

We are talking about BINT AL SHAMAAL, a daughter of famous KORONEC (Kubinec x Precious Me), a multiple Champion and Champion Producer. She is out of the straight Egyptian THEE COVER GIRL, a daughter by Thee Desperado and broodmare in the 'Stables of King Abdullah & Sons' until she deceased in 2004. With this pedigree background, we may find the answers where the spirit and trott comes from - her sire KORONEC and paternal grandsire, KUBINEC, and from where the elegance in size comes - her maternal grandsire, THEE DESPERADO. A very successful cross!

Bred by the 'Stables of King Abdullah & Sons' (SKAS), BINT AL SHAMAAL was born in Saudi Arabia in 2003. She grew up among high expectations, and when being three years of age she was sent to the Saudi National Show to see how she would improve, it happened that her sire KORONEC became Saudi National Champion Stallion 2005, while his daughter BINT AL SHAMAAL achieved "Champion Saudi Bred Females".

In March 2007, BINT AL SHAMAAL was shown once again. This time she was four years old and, already in the mares' section, entered to the First Riyadh Show. And with an exciting show and presence, in wonderful spirit, expression and movement, she captured the attention of the audience as well as of the judges from the very first minute, taking the lead in her class, and was finally chosen to be the unanimous Champion Mare of this show.

The people spoke about her a great deal and were excited about her, and motivated by so much response, the management of SKAS decided to send BINT AL SHAMAAL to Europe to compete in the 2007 show season there. Together with her one year younger 3/4-sister, the bay Jawaharat Al Sahraa (Koronec x Nouf Al thalitha/ by Thee Desperado), BINT AL SHAMAAL flew to Frankfurt in June, to be based in a professional Show Training Stable and to represent SKAS and Saudi Arabia in Europe. We will see how the two Saudi homebreds, BINT AL SHAMAAL and JAWAHARAT AL SAHRAA, will show off in some of the international shows in Europe.
