AL KHATAB al thani is one of those horses that catches your attention very quickly. He is of exotic type, appearance and beauty, has an incredibly nice face, is very refined without being feminine while full masculine expression and fire! He is a true stallion and expresses himself from the first minute and moment you see him!
AL KHATAB is bred and owned by Sheikh Hisham Al Basha, the owner of Sawary Farm, Jeddah, in the western region of Saudi Arabia. He is by AL BATRAN, a 2002 born son by Om el Abadan, who is also bred and owned by Sheikh Hisham Al Basha and his family. Om el Abadan, AL KHATAB's paternal grandsire came in the 90s from Australia to Europe to be shown there, and was sold then to HRH Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Al Buwibiya Farm, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he passed away a few years later.
AL KHATAB is born in 2005, so one of the very first produce of his sire, His dam is Hanan a 1997 born daughter of the late Champion Stallion Crusader and out of the Maleik el Kheil daughter Hazika. Hanan was bred by the Maxwells in Great Britain, who also owned and showed her as filly in Europe before she was sold to Saudi Arabia.
AL KHATAB was successfully shown several times in his country of origins, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and each time succeeding in a top placing or in ribbons. Last year, he was also judged and named the Reserve Champion Stallion at the 2010 International Al Mohamedia Arabian Horse Show in Riyadh.
"We all love this horse", Sheikh Hisham Al Basha says. "He makes us proud too, as he is also born in our Sawary Farm." Hisham Basha and his family have bred horses already for a long time. Some of the first imports from Europe came to his place at the end of the 90s, among them, the filly HANAN. He also acquired some Brazilian bred horses, among, the mare Dark Night (by RSD Dark Victory) that was originally sold to Belgium, and from there successfully marketed to Saudi Arabia in 1998. The Al Basha's Sawary Farm is located in Jeddah, and hosted the Saudi Nationals last year. At just six years old, AL KHATAB is still on his way and progressing to more stages in his career - in showing and in breeding, and to show his qualities as sire. It will be interesting to follow up the future of this young stallion! |
