Often people are very attracted by black horses. In the purebred Arab horse breed this colour was quite rare for a long time, however today, we can find many black ones all over the world. The four-year-old mare PRINCESS MARA is indeed one of the black jewels. Bred by Sax Arabians in Germany, she was never strongly exhibited or displayed or in a continuous show training, but she has always been a beloved mare at her home stables.
PRINCESS MARA
is a daughter of WINDSPREES MIRAGE, a son of THEE DESPERADO who carries some black genes. WINDSPREES MIRAGE is black himself and was based in Italy for several years before being exported to Israel. PRINCESS MARA's dam is MARAKOVKA, a paternal grand daughter of the Russian bred VYMPEL and out of the Kilimandscharo daughter MAREI. So the black color comes from both sides of the mare. Besides type, balance and her overall quality, this young mare is a really outstanding and powerful mover. Trotting and galloping around in the pasture, she continuously shows her spirit, using her legs, hocks and shoulder to move extremely powerfully, just flying over the ground. Carrying herself in pride, her upright tail carriage completes the picture of a black beauty.
The 2007 born PRINCESS MARA will deliver her foal within this month. She was bred to her stablemate, the chestnut MESHAN Ibn Kubinec (Kubinec x Menascha) so the foal will be a full sibling in blood to the multi Champion MARSHAN, who recently collected another Gold medal as Junior Champion as well as he was honored as an overall Top Five colt in the 2011 European Championships in Verona. The 2008 born MARSHAN is by MESHAN Ibn Kubinec, too, and out of PRINCESS MARA's older full sister MARNI, also a black one. PRINCESS MARA's qualities as a broodmare will be an interesting issue.
